Patricia Kaliati the coach, the cheerleader

Mulanje West parliamentarian, Patricia Kaliati, is ever lively whenever she makes public appearances.

Last Thursday, she was the centre of attraction during a friendly match between her Mulanje West Select side and Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve.

The former Cabinet minister combined the roles of cheerleader and coach in a self-styled manner that left spectators in stitches.

In the picture, Kaliati is captured at Namphungo Full Primary School ground in her constituency shouting instructions to her players. Her commonest phrases were: ‘Mark! Mark!’ or ‘That is good! That is good!’

But her coaching and cheerleading efforts bore no fruit as Mulanje West Select lost the match 2-1
