People’s Trading Centre (PTC), a subsidiary of conglomerate Press Corporation Limited (PCL), has opened a new Express Shop at Crossroads Puma Filling Station in Lilongwe.
The company has also opened a ‘Meals on the Go’ section at their Kanengo Express Shop.
Speaking during the official opening of Crossroads Express shop, PTC Chief Executive Officer, Matthews Chikankheni, said the shop will give customers a new shopping experience.
“We are always thinking of ways to respond to the needs of our customers, hence the opening of the Crossroads Express. This shows that we remain committed to giving our customers the best as the retail market leader in this country,” Chikankheni said.
He also said the newly opened Kanengo Express ‘Meals on the Go’ section at Puma Service Station offers customers quality food to promote healthy snacking.
“We serve hot food just like at the Victoria Avenue Super Save in Blantyre and Spar shop at City Centre, Lilongwe and customers are assured of fresh, high quality food at this outlet.” Chikankheni said.
He said PTC is planning to open more shops across the country.
Chikankheni further assured customers that the company will continue its operations in the country in the foreseable future.
He said the closure of its 20 shops across the country earlier in the year was a strategic move to enhance competitiveness.
“We are here to stay and that is why we are opening more shops in strategic areas,” Chikankheni said.
He also appealed to staff members at the new shops to offer best service to customers so that Peoples maintains its position as a leading supermarket in the retail sector.
