Malawi under-20 national football team star, Peter Banda, is undergoing trials at top South African side, Bidvest Wits, where he is expected to link up with compatriots Gabadinho Mhango and Gerald Phiri Junior.
Banda, alongside his manager and uncle Griffin Saenda Junior, flew to South Africa on Monday.
“The trials are expected to run from today [Tuesday) to Sunday. He will also train with the main team and there are indications that he might play in a match whose details I haven’t yet been furnished with,” said Saenda in a WhatsApp message on Tuesday.
Banda, who plays for Griffin Young Stars in the FMB Under-20 National League, had unsuccessful trials with Orlando Pirates Reserve recently.
In August, Banda, alongside Be Forward Wanderers wing-back Precious Sambani, also underwent trials at Belgian side Club Brugge.
Banda, son to Nyasa Big Bullets former star Chikondi Banda (deceased), clinched the 2016 Under-17 Cosafa Championship Golden Boot award with five goals.
