HOPE TO IMPRESS—Cholopi

Be Forward Wanderers centre-backs Lucky Malata and Peter Cholopi have left the country for South Africa to undergo two-week trials at National First Division side, Free State Stars.

Wanderers Chairperson, Gift Mkandawire, said once the duo passes the trials, the Nomads would look for their replacements.

“I can confirm that they are leaving Wednesday [yesterday]. Let us not talk much until they finish their two wee k strials,” Mkandawire said.

Cholopi said he would work hard to clinch a deal and boost his chances of playing in Europe.

“It is the wish of every player to play abroad. I will try my best to work hard so that I can sign for the team and use that opportunity as a stepping stone for a move to Europe,” he said.

Cholopi joined Wanderers two years ago from Tigers FC while Malata signed from Silver Strikers.

Recently, Flames striker Richard Mbulu signed a three-year contract with Baroka FC who also recruited Gerald Phiri Junior.
