Peter Mawanga keeps up to promise
After his classic showdown at Jacaranda Cultural Centre (JCC) in Blantyre last Saturday, musician Peter Mawanga has stepped out with a new single ‘Some Day’ off an Extended Playlist (EP) to be released later this year.
He said yesterday he was happy to give people a taste of his music from the EP.
“I have collaborated with Trevor Bystrom from United States of America in ‘Some Day’. People can sample the song through platforms such as YouTube, ITunes and Spotify,” he said.
Once again, the artist has not moved away from his afro vibes which have won him the hearts of many in both local and international platforms.
He said last Saturday that he was available for local outings, having missed out for some time.
In December 2018, Mawanga released his first independent project titled Nyanja Vibes.
“I have been working on this EP since December 2019 and so in September, I should be releasing it,” Mawanga said.
Listed as one of the most talented musicians in the country despite not being appreciated fully, the artist, through his performances, has also propelled the playing of traditional instruments which are part of culture.
“We need to preserve and promote these traditional instruments and this is why I play them and added them to my set,” Mawanga said
