Premier Bet Wizards’ Technical Director, Peter Mponda, has described the 5-4 loss to Nyasa Big Bullets on post-match penalties in the Fisd Challenge Cup last Saturday, as a blessing in disguise.

Wizards held Bullets to a two-all draw in regulation time through Kondwani Majoni’s brace. Pilirani Zonda and Collen Nkhulambe scored for Bullets.

“We played well and dominated the game on Saturday, but we lost. Drawing with the heavyweights and losing on penalties is an encouragement to my boys,” Mponda explained.

“However, I am not much bothered with the loss as I have shifted my mind to the league game against Karonga United in the Northern Region. I am hopeful that we will get all the points if we reproduce that performance.”

According to the former Flames’ defender, his charges are ready for the game against Karonga.

“Of course, it is a different competition. Most teams put much effort and power in cup games. That is why you will see that teams that do not perform well in the league, do well in cup games. Karonga is not a tough side. All we want is to finish on a better position and remain in the league,” Mponda added.
