Renowned rapper Phyzix, who races with the moniker of ‘Very Good, Very Good’, on Friday received another call of K5 million sponsorship from TNM plc, a mobile network and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services provider that is supporting his forthcoming Mountain Goat concert at Springs Park in Mzuzu on July 13 2024.
TNM’s K5 million support to the ‘Cholapitsa’ and ‘Wife Material’ maker follows another K5 million call that the mobile company made to Phyzix last year ahead of the launch of his 15-track Mountain Goat album.
Head of Brands and Marketing at TNM, Madalitso Jonazi, said the sponsorship to Phyzix highlights the company’s commitment to empowering and celebrating local talent.
“We are delighted to join forces with Phyzix once again for what promises to be an extraordinary music show in Mzuzu. Our partnership demonstrates our commitment to leveraging technology to create possibilities, change lives and connect people through music,” he said.
In addition, Jonazi said the integration with Phyzix enables fun lovers to purchase concert tickets on TNM Mpamba e-ticketing platform.
“This is a very big opportunity for TNM to continue engaging with customers. This is a Malawian company and, so, this is also part of giving back to the community,” he said.
Jonazi said since partnering Phyzix last year, they have made strides in reaching out to their customers and that they have created products such as Agulu, which targets the youth.
On e-ticketing, Jonazi said they have introduced the platform which musicians, people in the arts and organisations can use to make it easier for their fans to buy tickets.
“This is a good platform as it makes sure that funds are secure but it is also easy and convenient,” he said.
Phyzix said he was excited and thrilled to get K5 million from TNM.
“I wish more players came in to support the creative sector. TNM is doing a lot for the creative sector through such gestures like sponsorship as well as creating solutions to benefit us. For example, the e-ticketing is making things easier for us in terms of transparency and accountability,” he said.
He said people should brace for more Mountain Goat concerts, adding that the Mzuzu gig is also part of promoting the green city.
“We have an exciting lineup of artists that will entertain people and it includes the current trending star Jetu. We are set and cannot wait for the day,” Phyzix said.
