Poets date lovers
Blantyre-based poets, who recite under the banner ‘Spokenword Poetry Blantyre Movement’, on Tuesday date lovers at KwaHaraba Art Gallery in Blantyre.
One of the organisers, Rabbie Kondowe, said on Thursday the event will be held from 6pm to 8pm as part of Valentine’s Day celebrations.
He said the “special event” would be hosted by television personality Sharon Chirwa.
“The event is dubbed ‘Be My Valentine’, Hashtag BMV, and the aim of the event is to bring lovers together at a place they will interact intimately through poetry,” Kondowe said.
But it will not just be a poetry party as acoustic musician Jonaah is set to perform.
Some of the poets who are expected to perform include Mkango Gango, Chimwemwe, Gemini, Arthur, Godfrey Phiri and Tendai Scander.
