Poets pre-empt Valentine’s Day
Sapitwa Poetry organisers on Saturday showed that all good things should start in the Capital City when they celebrated love through poetry at ABC in Lilongwe.
Held under the theme ‘For You My Love’, poets such as Q. Malewezi, Yolanda Kaluma, Maclean Mbepula, Watipaso Nungu, Mtisunge Bottoman, Mervin Njelwa, Marumbo Sichinga and Robert Chiwamba helped patrons cross the river called Valentine’s Day, which falls on February 11, before they (patrons) actually get a feel of February 14 on Tuesday.
The poetry feast of love lived up to its name, effectively pre-empting February 14.
But it was not just about poetry as Rejoice soothed patrons’ souls with acoustic music, thanks to Sapitwa Poetry, organisers of the show.
