By Yohane Symon:
Police in Balaka District Sunday arrested Vice- President Saulos Chilima’s two personal assistants.
This prompted the Vice president to storm Balaka Police Station to press for information on the arrest.
The two, Kush Unyolo and Joshua Valera, were arrested at Chingeni Roadblock on their way from attending the lauch of Chiwanja cha Ayao in Balaka.
Police spokesperson, James Kadadzera, said the two were in police custody for questioning.
“What happened was that, during Chiwanja cha Ayao, the two were acting suspiciously. They did not even occupy seats so security detail noticed them and went for them. They immediately bolted and sped off. We chased them and they were stopped at Chingeni Roadblock where we picked them for questioning.
Advertisement“At every function where there is the President, we are very sensitive and make sure that security is tight. That is why we noticed that the two were behaving strangely. We are keeping them for questioning so that we know what exactly they were up to,” Kadadzera said.
