Police reduce criminal cases by 22% in Lilongwe
Lilongwe Police says criminal cases have been reduced by 22 percent in February compared to the same month last year.
Lilongwe Police Spokesperson, Kingsley Dandaula, said in February this year, police registered 531 cases while in 2017, 632 cases were registered.
“We reduced the cases that range from break-ins, robberies and assault just to mention a few,” he said
Dandaula added that the success has been achieved due to the good working relationship between the police and the public.
“Working with members of the general public through community policing has helped us so much because they act as the eye of the police,” said Dandaula.
He said intensive purposive evening and day patrols from different departments, have helped the police service in Lilongwe to reduce criminal cases.
