POP DOGG—
I would like to do more collaborations

Ireland–based musician Pop Dogg has said he wants to do more collaborations as he pushes his music to greater heights.

The artist is set to drop a music video titled ‘Size Ya Ntauni’, on November 30 2019 which he collaborated with Genni Blakk.

“Having worked with a number of musicians, I would like to do more collaborations. This is just one way of enriching my music,” Pop Dogg said.

He said ‘Size Ya Ntauni’, was a song produced by Genii Blakk and that it was recorded and mastered by Sonye in 2016.

“Apart from offering entertainment through the song, the song has also tackles issues on the killing and abduction of persons with albinism. Actually, I am the one singing the verse in the song,” Pop Dogg said.

He said the story in the song was about city life.

“The slang term in ‘Size Ya Ntauni’ is used to show appreciation, and as a token of respect to one’s achievement,” the musician said.

The song was developed after Pop Dogg linked up with Genii Blakk when he came to Malawi and headlined the Urban Music People (UMP) Festival in 2016.

“We performed the song for the first time in memory of hip hop star Revolver. Since then Genii Blakk left for South Africa, Cape Town to continue raising the African flag and managed to expand his label Direct Muzik Group by which in the video it indicates some of the new members,” he said.

Genii Blakk said he was happy to work with Pop Dogg in the song and that the music video has scenes from Malawi and Cape Town in South Africa.

Both Genii Blakk and Pop Dogg are currently working on their separate album projects.

“But as indicated earlier, there are more collaborations to come from the two of us and other artists as well,” Pop Dogg said
