Premier Bet Wizards to release unhappy players

Premier Bet Wizardss’ Technical Director, Peter Mponda, has said he will let go some of the team’s players who are unhappy.

Mponda said this when commenting on their preparations for the 2017 season. Bester Phiri and Eneya Banda have since joined newly-promoted Masters Security FC of Lilongwe.

However, the former Flames captain said that the team will not sell their best players.

“We won’t sell our important players, but there are a few players who are not happy and we will let them go. We don’t want unhappy people in our club,” Mponda said.

He said the club will sign new players with focus on the youth.

Mponda was not forthcoming to divulge specific names of the players to be released.

“Our main goal for next season will be made clear once we complete assembling the desired team,” he added.

Wizards escaped relegation in dramatic fashion in the 2016 TNM Super League season when they finished on position 13 with 30 points, three points away from the relegation zone.
