Premier Soccer League action returns
With the TNM Super League season on break, there should be attention on the South Africa Absa Premier Soccer League (PSL), which resumed on Wednesday.
After being on break to pave the way for the Africa Cup of Nations finals, which wound up in Gabon on Sunday, the PSL action is back with attention on the seven Malawians spread among the South African clubs.
The games involving Malawians continue today when Platinum Stars, featuring Robert Ng’ambi and Gerald Phiri Jnr, line up against giants, Orlando Pirates, at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg.
Both teams are struggling with Pirates placed 10th on the 16-member log table on 18 points, three steps ahead of Stars, who have 14 points.
Flames’ Captain, Limbikani Mzava, is not assured of the company of his compatriot, striker Chiukepo Msowoya, when travelling to face SuperSport United also in Johannesburg.
Arrows are sixth with 20 points whereas SuperSport top the standings with 25 points.
Atusaye Nyondo, who has hardly scored since his switch from University of Pretoria, should hope for a better home showing for Bloemfontein Celtic when welcoming giants, Mamelodi Sundowns.
Veteran striker, Esau Kanyenda, has an outside chance of featuring for Polokwane City who host Maritzburg United in Limpopo.
Gabadinho Mhango was in action for BidVest Wits against Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday.
