Gospel musician Princess Chitsulo has begun the journey of working on a new musical project that is expected to be out end this year.
Chitsulo has since indicated that two songs will be released between end April and May as she gears to release the album.
“I am working on new songs. It has been long since I released an album and this is the beginning of the album project,” she said.
According to the ‘Petulo’ star, the last time she released an album was in 2016 when she dropped Nyimbo Yanga.
“I was putting things together and I am happy to say it here that God has given me a team to work with. Since my first album I have been working alone. The team is being managed by Washington Mwenye who is now managing my music and providing strategic direction. I would like to thank God for Mr Mwenye. He has come at the right time as I am trying to grow my music career,” Chitsulo said.
She said the two singles she is set to release have been recorded in South Africa and United States of America (USA).
With three albums to her credit namely Sindilola, Palibe Otsutsa and Nyimbo Yanga, she said she is looking forward to another exciting moment in ministering the word of God.
“This new album, I will feature not less than three popular African artists since I am eyeing the international market. I will be honest with you that this is the new Princess Chitsulo the worshipper,” she said.
She said has rebranded and that now she has even expanded her base to fit into the digital world by creating her own website and official YouTube channel.
“These are the platforms where people can access my music and I would like ask people to subscribe and I also want to appeal to well-wishers to join me in this project to minister the word of God,” Chitsulo said.
She said the country has talent which if properly managed can excel and do wonders for Malawi.
“Let me also take this opportunity to ask people to continue following the necessary Covid measures if we are to fight the pandemic and also get vaccinated,” Chitsulo said.
Mwenye, who is based in USA said Thursday he realised that the same as food brings people together, music connects people.
“Musicians are messengers and need our support and direction to get the message to the world. I believe our local musicians have a responsibility to reach, to spread love or emotions with the world. Music has no boundary or border restrictions,” he said.
Mwenye said it is an amazing thing for him to work with Chitsulo – worshipper and the entire team as the project and music director.
“This is a huge project that would put Malawi on the world platform. To all soul touching music lovers, we promise you nothing but the best food to your soul,” the former broadcaster said.
