Silver Strikers forward Tizgobere Kumwenda says he is increasingly getting frustrated by a prolonged knee injury.
The former Big Bullets and Blantyre United attacker joined Silver alongside Victor Limbani, but the former’s career has been plagued by injuries.
He only featured for the Bankers in the opening matches of the season.
It is likely that Kumwenda will not play for Silver in the second round of the TNM Super League.
Kumwenda on Wednesday said the injury has affected his career.
“It’s frustrating not to play for more than four months. I am eager to help the team in the league, but the injury is refusing to heal in time,” he explained.
Thoko Stambuli is another Silver player who has not featured for the club for close to two seasons due to a similar problem.
Silver have several options upfront in Peter Wadabwa, Green Harawa, Chimwemwe Chisambi and Rodrick Gonani, whereas Ghanaian striker, Samuel Siaw, is still ineligible because he is a minor.
Silver assistant coach, Lovemore Fazili, yesterday said the team was missing the services of the versatile attacker [Kumwenda].
Kumwenda was part of the Cosafa Cup squad that won the Plate Division championship after beating Zambia 1-0 in South Africa this year.
Before joining Silver, Kumwenda was Bullets top goal scorer in the Caf Champions League with two goals in two games.
