Malawi Stock Exchange (MSE)-listed First Merchant Bank (FMB) last Friday wound its Zilimanja promotion touting positive impact it has brought to its clientele base and number of users for its mobile banking platforms.
Widdy Nsona, Marketing Manager at FMB, told journalists at the end of the campaign that within the promotion period, transaction values alone increased by 56 percent.
He said the bank also registered over a thousand transactions on its online banking platforms during the promotion period.
According to Nsona, this implies more customers continue to embrace the concept which has proven efficient and reliable.
“We have created enough awareness for customers to transact on our zilimmanja platforms. During the campaign period, there has been positive reaction. It shows that our customers want to use the product and they are satisfied,” he said.
Nsona said looking ahead, the bank eyes at increasing its visibility and access to the various services and products on offer.
He said already, customers are gradually migrating from traditional banking halls to mobile banking platforms.
He said in line with the pace, the bank eyes to introduce more additional services.
