Malawi’s top two athletes of the moment Stern Liffa and Asimenye Simwaka have asked for continued training ahead of the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

Liffa and Simwaka set new personal best records at the just ended CAA Senior Africa Athletics Championships in Mauritius.

Liffa said it was their desire to impress at the Commonwealth Games.

“However, we need thorough preparations and support to achieve this,” he said.

Simwaka said they can break more records if well supported.

“We need to continue training to achieve our mission. If we stay in camp and compete in other events we can do better,” she said.

“We really need to support them because they have shown potential that they can do better,” he said.
