Red Lions coach in soul-searching

Red Lions coach Mike Kumanga says there is need to hold crisis talks to find factors contributing to the team’s poor showing in the TNM Super League.

The former Flames and Moyale Barracks left-back made the call after watching his troops lose 1-2 to Silver Strikers at Balaka Stadium on Saturday.

Lions have six points from eight games while Silver rose to position two on the log table with 16 points from the same number of games.

“I just can’t understand what is happening to the team. I think we need to discuss as a team. The executive should call us and summon the players as well,” Kumanga said.

Assistant coach Prichard Mwansa chipped in: “We did not make many changes to the squad, but the players cannot replicate last season’s form. There must be something wrong in the team.”

Silver scored through Matthew Sibale and Blessings Tembo whereas Gibson Nkhonjera pulled one back for the Lions.
