Confederation of African Football (Caf) has announced the identity of referees assigned to officiate 2018 Champions League and Confederation Cup matches involving Be Forward Wanderers and Masters Security FC.
However, there is uncertainty on Wanderers’ participation in the continental competition, amid reports that they might pull out due to their sponsors Be Forward Limited’s concerns over the team’s preparedness for the games.
Masters and Wanderers are expected to, first, play against Angola’s Atletico Petroleous de Luanda and AS Vita of the Democratic Republic of Congo away on February 10 and 11, respectively.
Namibian Jonas Shongedi will take charge of Masters’ match, scheduled for 11 de Novembro in Luanda, with the assistance of compatriots David Shaanika (First Assistant Referee) and Christof Alfred (Second Assistant Referee).
Tanzanians Elly Sashi (Centre Referee), Salim Mkono (First Assistant Referee) and Ferdinand Chacha (Second Assistant Referee) will handle the return match at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on February 20.
Ring Akech from South Sudan, alongside countrymen, George Primato and Taha Abdalla, will officiate the away match between Vita and Wanderers.
The first leg is scheduled for the artificial turf of Omnisports Stade des Martys in Kinshasa, followed by the reverse fixture in Lilongwe on February 21.
Angolans Antonio Muachihuissa, assisted by Da Silva Julio and Wilson Ntyamba, will handle the home match for the Nomads.
