NRC general secretary Chris Kalichero confirmed these new figures but said the referees would meet on Saturday to come up with the exact figures for the 2015/16 season.
“The figures are just proposals but we are meeting this weekend in Lilongwe to decide on the matter. They could be maintained or on the lower side but the issue is that things have gone up in the country,” said Kalichero on Thursday.
In a separate interview, Super League of Malawi (Sulom) vice general secretary Thokozani Chazema also confirmed that he was aware of the new figures but refused comment further on the matter saying he could do so after receiving official communication from the referee body.
