Regina Ng’ombe wins Ladies Golf Open

Regina Mwanza- Ngombe emerged champion of Ladies Golf Open Championship held at Lilongwe Golf Club over the weekend.
Playing off handicap 19, Ng’ombe finished the tournament with 187 net whereas Fortune Lee (handicap 22) came second with 188 net.
Ng’ombe dedicated the trophy to her husband.
“It was a very tough competition but my husband encouraged me, assuring me that that I could do it. I am really excited and I hope I will keep on doing well,” Mwanza-Ng’ombe said.
Stella Ng’oma, playing off handicap 22, came third with 193 net.
In A Division, Sheilla Chinkhandwe (handicap 26) emerged winner and was followed by Christine Massaiti on second position and Marie Lee Cho on third.
Lillian Kawaza (handicap 30) finished as the champion in B Division whereas Siboni Maseko (34) and Ireen Mlundira (34) came second and third, respectively.
Organiser of the event, Jochebed Mpanda, who is also Lilongwe Golf Club Committee Secretary and Lady Anchor, thanked NBS Bank and MedHealth for sponsorship.
“The tournament was good and we believe the golfers enjoyed it,” Mpanga said.
NBS Bank Head of Marketing Tamanda Longwe said the golf tournament was a success.
“We received overwhelming response from the golfers. The turnout was very good and it was a good platform for interaction,” she said.
NBS Bank and MedHeath sponsored the golf tournament, which attracted 104 golfers from Lilongwe Golf Club, Country Club Limbe and Blantyre Sports Club.
