Manjolo has since been replaced by her deputy, Nicholas Gondwa.
Both Manjolo and Gondwa confirmed the developments yesterday.
“I am very happy that I am going to Ntcheu as Officer-in-Charge where I will be the overall in charge. I have been the national spokesperson since 2012 and I thank God for seeing me through until now. I also thank all stakeholders, including you the media for supporting me during my time. I ask you to also support my successor,” Manjolo said.
Gondwa said: “I am happy. I thank God for giving me this challenging job. I also thank the IG (Inspector General) and the entire management for entrusting me with the new challenging job. I also thank my predecessor for her guidance and support and, above all, I thank you journalists for your support which has enabled management to spot me. Let us work together please.”
MPS management has also promoted Mulanje Police spokesperson, James Kadadzera to Southern Region Police spokesperson replacing Gondwa. Kadadzera confirmed his appointment and has since assumed his new role.
