Malawi national football strikers Richard Mbulu and Gabadinho will this afternoon face off in South Africa’s DSTV Premiership golden boot chase as their sides Baroka and Orlando Pirates clash.
Mbulu is second on the league’s top goal scorer’s chart with three goals, one goal behind Themba Zwane of Mamelodi Sundowns.
However, the former Mafco FC attacker failed to score during the 1-0 defeat against Tshakhuma FC last week and also fired blanks when Baroka drew 1-1 with Golden Arrows on November 4.
Mbulu said he would like to revive his scoring form and win the match
“We are playing against one of the biggest clubs here. I know my job is to score goals but winning the match is ideal,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mhango returned to Pirates’ training last week but he was not featured during the team’s 2-1 victory over SuperSport United last Saturday.
The former Bidvest Wits attacker has scored once this season and his coach Josef Zinnbauer said on Monday that Mhango will be available for selection.
The 2019/2020 season joint top goal scorer said it would be a daunting task to reclaim his position in the starting line-up as the team was winning matches while he was nursing a groin injury
“I am fit to play but it will depend on our coaches. I have taken a bit of time without playing but I am sure I can still score goals as the season is not yet half-way,” he said.
On the other hand Baroka will also have Gerald Phiri Jnr during their Saturday match against Pirates.
