Flames and Baroka FC striker Richard Mbulu has been linked with a move to DStv Premiership side Golden Arrows.
Mbulu’s contract with Baroka is set to expire in June this year.
South Africa online football magazine, www.SoccerLaduma.co.za, reported Tuesday that Mbulu could move to Arrows before the start of next season.
“Mbulu looks set to feature in the colours of Arrows next season, with talks at an advanced stage. An agreement between the player’s camp and the club is expected to be concluded in the coming days,” reported the publication.
The Flames striker struggled for game time at Baroka this season and only scored three goals the entire campaign.
Some players at Baroka have been linked with moves away from the club after they were relegated from the DStv Premiership last week.
When contacted yesterday, Mbulu said he had no agreement with Arrows.
“It is not true. I am still a Baroka player,” Mbulu said.
He is one of the important players for The Flames and is expected to be part of the squad to face Ethiopia and Guinea next month.
Mbulu moved to Baroka in 2019 alongside his cousin Gerald Phiri Junior.
But Phiri Junior left Baroka for Sudanese giants Al Hilal.
Flames captain Limbikani Mzava, strikers Gabadinho Mhango and Chiukepo Msowoya are some of Malawian players who played for Arrows.
