Flames midfielder Robert Ng’ambi scored his second goal of the season as Platinum Stars held Kaizer Chiefs to a 1-1 draw in an Absa Premiership match on Wednesday night at FNB Stadium.
According to www. kickoff.com, the Malawian midfielder gave Stars a controversial lead as his fierce strike failed to cross the line, but it was still awarded.
“The deadlock was broken in the 21st minute but the goal should never have stood as Ng’ambi’s shot, tipped onto the crossbar by Itumeleng Khune did not cross the line when it came down,” reported www.kickoff. com.
But Chiefs grabbed the equaliser through Hendrick Ekstein in the second half.
The draw means that Stars have dropped to fourth position on the log table with four points from two games.
Ng’ambi is currently the leading Malawian scorer in the Premiership this season.
He scored his first goal in a 1-0 victory over SuperSport United last week.
In other games involving Malawians, Atusaye Nyondo’s Bloemfontein Celtic drew 0-0 with Free State Stars whereas Limbikani Mzava’s Golden Arrows saw off Cape Town City with a 2-0 win also on Wednesday night.
