Flames veteran attacker Robert ‘Baggio’ Ng’ambi’s has said the battle to return to the South Africa Premier Soccer League (PSL) is stiff despite winning the first two promotion playoffs.
Leopards secured a 3-1 win over Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila in the second playoff at the Bidvest Stadium on Saturday. Last week, Leopards defeated Ajax Cape Town 1-0.
The Lidoda Duvha side are second in the playoffs whereas Ajax, who defeated Tshakhuma 5-1 Tuesday, top the table on goal difference. Vhadau Vha Damani remain at the bottom without a point.
Ng’ambi, who played for 67 minutes of the match, said he was confident that Leopards would return to the PSL following their impressive start in the playoffs.
“It looks promising as we might remain in the league. We are working hard to achieve our mission. We have two matches left and if we win our next game we will be better,” he said.
The former Nyasa Big Bullets and defunct MDC United midfielder said they were banking on experience.
“We have been in this scenario way back where we fought to earn PSL promotion,” Ng’ambi said.
Leopards will face Ajax Cape Town at Rand Stadium on Friday before dating Tshakhuma on Monday at FNB Stadium.
Leopards were relegated from PSL after finishing on position 15 from 30 matches.
