Flames attacking midfielder, Robin Ngalande, has been released by his South Africa Premier Soccer League side, Bidvest Wits whereas his compatriot, Gerald Phiri Jnr, will be loaned out.

According to South Africa’s soccer publication, Kick-Off, Ngalande was deemed surplus to Wits’ requirement alongside Calvin Kadi and Papy Fatty.

With the transfer window closed, the former Civo United star might wait until January to hunt for a new team.

Ngalande spent last season on loan at Platinum Stars where he failed to make the grade.

Ngalande made headlines when he was a Mamelodi Sundowns youth player, until he was recruited by the reserve side of Spanish giants, Atletico Madrid.

At that time, he was being heralded as the next Samuel Eto’o Fils, the Cameroon legend, but his career failed to take off and he returned to South Africa.

The magazine also quoted Wits Chief Executive Officer, Jose Ferreira, as confirming that Phiri Jnr was not in coach Gavin Hunt’s plans for this season.

“We are looking at the possibility of placing him elsewhere [on loan],” Ferreira told www.kick-off. com.

Phiri, who has not played competitive club football since signing from Zimbabwe’s Caps United last June, finished his four-month loan spell at Township Rollers in Botswana without kicking a ball due to work permit complications.

The same permit hitches affected his prospect of featuring for Wits.

Phiri jnr has somehow been impressive for the Flames, scoring in 1-0 win over Swaziland last Sunday.
