Robin Ngalande’s representative dismisses Silver Strikers’ interest

Robin Ngalande’s South Africa-based manager, Paul Mitchell, has once again ruled out the prospect of the Flames forward joining any TNM Super League team.

Mitchell was reacting on Tuesday to latest interest in the player from Silver Strikers, weeks after Nyasa Big Bullets claimed to have enquired about the free agent. Mitchel denied such an enquiry.

The Bankers’ General Secretary, Thabo Nyirenda, yesterday confirmed that they were tracking the former Mamelodi Sundowns’ and Atletico Madrid Academy player.

“Yes, we are interested in his services. He is a good player and he can add depth to our squad. Let us see what happens in the next few days,” Nyirenda said.

Ngalande became a free-agent in July after the expiry of a two-year contract with South African giants, Bidvest Wits.

The former Civo United versatile attacker was considered as one of the brightest talents in the country but his career is slowly moving in reverse.

Meanwhile, Silver have also intensified the chase for their former forward, Chawanangwa Kawonga, who is set to return home from Mozambique next month.

Nyirenda said discussions with the Chibuto FC striker were at an advanced stage.

“We have already agreed personal terms. We hope that he will play for Silver,” he said.

Recently, Kawonga indicated that he was ready to quit the Mozambican club. Kaonga has scored eight goals in the Mocambola League this season.

The Central Bankers are hunting for their first Super League title since 2013. They are fourth on the log table with 33 points, two behind leaders, Blue Eagles.
