Ronald Mangani is Press Corporation Chief

Press Corporation plc has appointed Ronald Mangani as its new chief executive officer (CEO) effective next month.
The conglomerate made the announcement in a statement issued Monday.
He takes over the mantle from Lyton Chithambo, who has served in the position in acting capacity.
Mangani once served as Secretary to the Treasury between 2014 and 2017 and once chaired the board of Old Mutual Malawi.
Prior to his appointment, Mangani was an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Malawi.
Mangani studied economics, finance and investment at the universities of Malawi, York and Cape Town.
“He therefore brings to PCL extensive experience in managerial leadership, investment decision-making, financial and economic management, and strategic planning,” the statement reads.
PCL Board Chairperson Randson Mwadiwa said Mangani best fits the position to propel the aspirations of the group.
“We want to expand our footprints in banking beyond Malawi and expand to other sectors such as energy and we believe he will help us on our drive,”Mwadiwa said.
Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences economist Betchani Tchereni also applauded Mangani’s appointment.
“He is an action-oriented person and PCL needs someone of that calibre and we trust that he will help the company see other important areas and venture into them,” he said.
Minority Shareholders Association of Listed Companies in Malawi General Secretary Frank Harawa said much is expected from the new CEO.

Justin Mkweu is a fast growing reporter who currently works with Times Group on the business desk.
He is however flexible as he also writes about current affairs and national issues.
