Roofhouse sweeps marketers’ awards, scoops 7 out of 20 accolades

One of Malawi’s leading adverting agency, Roofhouse Ogilvy, dominated at this year’s Chartered Institute of Marketing – Malawi (CIM-Malawi) awards where it scooped seven out of 20 accolades that were up for grabs in the competition.

The awards were presented at the 2015 CIM Annual Awards Gala and dinner held last Friday at the Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre.

SALIJENIRoofhouse’s managing director Bob Salijeni won the top most marketer of the year award while his company scooped the marketing campaign of the year, the advertising agency of the year, commercial of the year – print, commercial of the year – TV and the commercial of the year – outdoor awards.

Roofhouse’s designer Keith Tembo also won the Creative- Graphic Artist of the year award at the ceremony.

Mobile phone network company TNM scooped two awards at the ceremony, which include the Life Changing Brand of the year and the Most Visible Brand of the Year awards.

Airtel Malawi has won the Marketing Game Chang er of the Year Award while Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) radio station won the Commercial of the Year Award – Radio.

Other winners included Bata Shoe Company decorated as the Most Improve Brand of the Year, Corporate Graphix recognised in the Special Marketing of the Year category, Biz Malawi which won the Digital Marketing Initiative of the Year award and First Merchant Bank (FMB) which won the Corporate Social Investment of the year award.

There were no winners for the Social Market of the Year, Brand Photographer of the Year, Marketing Copyrighter of the Year, Outstanding SME Marketing Initiative and Bankable Marketing Idea of the Year awards.
