Northern Region Football Association (NRFA) Premier Division side, Rumphi United, need a point to secure promotion to the Super League.
Rumphi are remaining with two games but can earn their promotion and the Simama and Sons (Simso) title if they beat or draw against Embangweni United and Kavukula.
The side’s coach Jimmy Butao said they wanted to win the remaining two games to conclude the season with their unbeaten record.
“The remaining games are crucial. We need to wrap up the season with 23 points. We need thorough preparations to win. Despite being home games I have told my players not to get complacent,” said Butao whose charges lost to Super League outfit Ekwendeni Hammers 3-2 on post-match penalties to miss the final slot of the FDH Bank Cup.
The league leaders have 17 points from eight games but Kavukula can overtake them if they win their remaining two games including beating Rumphi to upset the league leaders.
Meanwhile, Fiskani Katumbi of Chintheche FC is the top scorer with 15 goals.
The K5 million league was launched in May this year at Embangweni Ground in Mzimba.
