SAA launches double anniversary promotion

South African Airways on Wednesday launched a new promotion in commemoration of its 58 years of its service delivery in the country as well as Malawi’s 52 years of independence.

The promotion, dubbed 5852 Experience, will see lucky SAA customers winning free tickets to some of the airline’s prime destinations.

In an interview on the sidelines of the launch at its head offices in Blantyre, SAA sales executive, Wezi Mungoni, said through the promotion the company intends to reward its clientele for loyalty.

“The promotion will provide our customers with a chance to win various exciting prise,” said Mungoni.

Major prizes for the three months promotion, which ends on June 30, 2016, included two return air tickets to any SAA destination, two return tickets to Cape Town and two return tickets to Johannesburg.

Mungoni said customers will be required to fill in an entry form when they buy their air ticket either through the SAA office, SAA website or through a travel agent.

She then touted the airliner’s contribution to the Malawi economy in the years of its operations, saying it has significantly contributed to the country’s growth and development.

“Apart from bringing the world to Malawi and taking Malawi to the world, SAA has supported jobs for hundreds of Malawians. For example, all food consumed in our flights from the country are provided by Malawi catering companies,” she said.

She said SAA has also promoted tourism to Malawi by bringing in tourists from South Africa and other parts of the globe through its wide network and Star Alliance membership.

“SAA has also facilitated trade between Malawi, South Africa and the rest of the world and further enhanced investment in Malawi,” she said.

“We have also contributed to the fiscus, primarily through taxation and aeronautical charges,” she said.
