Salima include add-ons to Mighty Wanderers new package

Mighty Wanderers breathed a sigh of relief after Salima Sugar Company committed to maintain its sponsorship packaged but with add-ons in terms of equipment.

Wanderers presented a budget of K250 million but the company is waiting for a revised budget.

Salima Sugar Company Secretary Charles Thupi confirmed the development saying they decided to add some things to motivate the side.

“We have decided to maintain sponsorship on same terms as last year but we have added equipment to be presented to Wanderers and other incentives.

“The full amount of sponsorship will be determined by the budget submitted by Wanderers,” he said.

Wanderers Commercialisation Subcommittee Chairperson Clement Stambuli said they were delighted with the development.

“We are now waiting for the signing on ceremony but it will be a year-long deal reviewed at the end of the season. On the part of equipment, Salima already bought us a kit which we used in the Blantyre derby against Nyasa Big Bullets.

“It is still a good agreement because it gives us a chance to partner with other companies. Last year, we also partnered Mount Meru,” he said.

Stambuli said Wanderers players were being motivated to perform better this season.

Last season, both parties signed a year-long deal worth K60 million.
