Salima Sugar Company and TNM Super League rookies Dedza Dynamos have signed a sponsorship agreement worth K48 million until the end of the season.
The signing ceremony took place at the company’s head office in Lilongwe yesterday.
Salima Sugar Company Secretary Charles Thupi said the company will be providing K5.3 million to Dynamos per month.
“We are excited to be associated with Dynamos . Our aim is to take the club to another level. The team will also be promoting our brand and they will also be able to earn additional income,” Thupi said.
As part of the sponsorship agreement, the team will now be called Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar FC. Thupi said the company will also provide kits, football boots and training equipment.
Dynamos Vice General Secretary Kondwani Banda hailed the company for the timely sponsorship.
“This is great news for us and we will help to market their products. We will also make sure that we safeguard the sponsorship,” Banda said.
The club was established in 2017 and earned promotion after winning the Chipike Premier Division.
Dynamos have taken the TNM Super League by storm as they are on position seven with 19 points from 14 matches and they will wrap up the first round with a fixture against Civil Service United at Dedza Stadium tomorrow.
The signing ceremony comes just a week after the company announced the sponsorship during the funeral ceremony of the team’s chief supporter late Ackim Kondowole Mageshi, who died in a car accident.
