Nyasa Big Bullets left back Precious Sambani has paid tribute to his teammates after winning the Hubertus Clausius player of the month award for the second successive time.

Sambani received K100,000 and a trophy at Bullets offices in Blantyre on Friday after he successfully defended the accolade.

The Flames fullback, who has won the award for the months of July and August, said his teammates and coaches played a crucial role towards his success.

“Let me thank my fellow players and coaches for a good working relationship. It is always good to win individual awards because it helps the future generation to appreciate what happened before,” Sambani, who amassed more votes from Bullets supporters, said.

The former Mighty Mukuru Wanderers player said the People’s Team were eyeing the FDH Bank Cup and successful TNM Super League title defence.

“It will not be an easy task as teams are plotting to stop us from winning the cups. Teams are coming hard on us. As players we are determined to overcome the challenge,” Sambani said.

Meanwhile, Hubertus Clausius Operations Manager Cassius Phiri hailed Bullets fans for overwhelmingly supporting the initiative ever since the insurance broking firm ventured into agreement with Bullets.

“Our relationship with Bullets cannot go unnoticed without appreciating the role of the supporters. At our company, we are happy that we are part and parcel of Malawi football,” Phiri said.

Playmaker Patrick Mwaungulu was named the team’s player of the month of June.
