Sand Music Fest dangles ‘Jerusalema’ challenge

Impakt Events has brought in the ‘Jerusalema’ dance challenge ahead of the Sand Music Festival to be held at Sunbird Livingstonia in Salima on October 30 to November 1 2020.

With the festival celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, organisers have said they are giving away three group tickets to the winners of their ‘Jerusalema’ dance challenge.

Impakt Events Public Relations Officer Nyokase Madise, said yesterday the challenge comes as part of Sand Music Festival’s commitment to raise Covid-19 pandemic awareness.

“The global hit ‘Jerusalema’ by South Africa’s musician Master KG has been used all over the world as the anthem of hope and triumph during Covid-19 pandemic hence putting up this challenge,” Madise said.

Master KG real name Kgaogelo Moagi, is one of the international acts set to perform at Sand Music Festival alongside Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz.

Unlike Diamond, who already starred at the festival in 2016, Master KG will be performing at the festival for the first time.

Madise said to enter the challenge, people must perform the ‘Jerusalema’ dance challenge in groups of three and then send to any of Sand Music Festival official social media pages on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

“All entries will be posted on the Sand Music Festival page and the post with the most likes wins the three tickets. Winners will be announced after October 23 2020,” she said.

We want to call upon people to patronise the festival and make sure that the buy tickets which are selling at K25,000 in some outlets across the country,” she said.

Apart from Diamond and Master KG, other artists set to perform at the festival this year include Wendy Harawa, Soldier Lucius Banda and Black Missionaries.

With several other festivals cancelled this year due to Covid-19 pandemic, Madise said they have a huge task of making sure that the festival runs smoothly and that people get the best.
