Sangie to launch debut album
Female musician Sangie will today make history in her music career as she will be launching her debut album Painless at Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe.
It has not been an easy journey for the singer, real name Angel Mbekeani, in a male-dominated industry.
But with all that said, Sangie has shown potential and worked very hard dropping singles which have earned her praises.
She made her first single ‘I Do It All For Love’, in 2014 which received an overwhelming response and continues to enjoy airplay.
And now she is ready with a full 10-track album which she finished recording last year.
“It has been three years of learning. The music industry is not the easiest one but I have grown. I am now wiser and ready to take my music to the next level,” she told The Nation recently.
She said on his Facebook page that she was ready for the launch and that people should expect the best.
The artist was nominated in the Nyasa Music Awards in the Best Female Artist category but she lost out to Miracle Chinga Moffat.
With the singles she dropped, Sangie has been performing in several events sharing the stage with other musicians.
She also collaborated with several musicians.
The reggae musician also known for the track ‘Ndangozizidwa’ said the album in which she has also featured other artists dwells on love and women.
Some of the songs in Painless include ‘Mkazi Wa Ngwiro’, featuring renowned poet Robert Chiwamba of the ‘Flames Sizamva’ fame, and ‘Pepa’ featuring Lulu.
Some of the artists spicing up the album include Lulu, Patience Namadingo and Zathu Band.
