Vice-President, Saulos Chilima, is expected to be the centre of attraction as he captains Civo Bucks in the Build- A-Court fundraising basketball tournament scheduled for Civo Court in Lilongwe this afternoon.

After weeks of training ahead of the tournament, the stage is set for the Vice President to showcase his basketball skills on the court.

TNM set the ball rolling by donating K2 million towards the court project.

Cezobal wants to construct a fully fledged court with spectator stands, an outdoor court, changing rooms. Construction is expected to last 10 months.

In a related development, FDH Bank on Thursday in Blantyre donated K500,000 to Cezobal towards the court project. FDH is expected to feature a team in today’s fundraiser.

Speaking after making the donation, FDH Bank Finance Manager, Atusaye Mulaga, said: “As a bank, we believe in giving back to the community, so when Cezoball called for help, we saw this as an opportunity to give back to the people.”

Receiving the donation, Cezoball Technical Director, Tendai Banda, said: “It is our dream to have a modern basketball court in the Central Region and this dream is finally being realised.”

Banda has also called on people who can show up at Civo with bags of cement on the day as a contribution towards building the court.
