Vice-President Saulos Chilima has said is set to deliver what he has described as a thought-provoking and enlightening public lecture on mindset change this Friday at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.
This will be the second public lecture that Chilima will be delivering after the first one on ‘Moral decadence’ at the University of Malawi, Chancellor College in Zomba in 2018.
Spokesperson in the Office of the Vice-President, Pilirani Phiri, said all is set for the public lecture.
“The lecture is on this Friday and it will focus on mindset change as a precursor to personal development, national development and smooth implementation of public sector reforms,” Phiri said.
He added that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, entry to the public lecture will be restricted and that all Covid-19 preventive measures will be followed.
“I know that everyone will be eagerly waiting to hear what the Vice-President will deliver. Those who attended the first lecture in Zomba a few years ago will testify it was an eye-opening lecture and this one too will be the same; even better, looking at the topic,” Phiri said.
He added that the lecture will be beamed live on media stations such as Zodiak Broadcasting Station channels and Mibawa Television for those that will not physically make it the venue.
Chilima will also have time to interact with the audience through the question-and-answer session at the end of the presentation.
The Vice-President, who is also Minister responsible for Public Sector Reforms, has been engaging heads of government ministries, departments and agencies in a bid to improve their respective entities’ performances.
Vice president Saulos Chilima has said people lost public trust with Mzuzu City Council (MCC) but said it has potential to restore.
