President Lazarus Chakwera and Vice President Saulos Chilima Friday led Malawians in receiving the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccination at Mtunthama State Residence in Lilongwe.
In his remarks, Chakwera urged people to continue observing all preventive Covid-19 measures.
“We do not want third wave to come here to disturb our daily lives. Let us not lose hope,” he said.
Chakwera said the efficacy of AstraZeneca vaccine cannot be doubted hence he and Chilima receiving it.
The Ministry of Health said 11 million people are expected to receive the second jab. So far, the ministry said 358,248 people have been vaccinated and the country expects to receive 900 000 doses from Covax facility—Text by Deogratias Mmana—Picture courtesy of State House
