After a two-week break, the TNM Super League resumes this afternoon with potentially exciting matches.

The pick of the day is the match involving leaders Nyasa Big Bullets and Kamuzu Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium this afternoon.

This is the final round of the marathon and teams would be looking to get points to fight for the title and survival.

The title race is still open but Bullets have a slight advantage having opened a 11-point gap at the end of the first round.

However, anything can happen and they should not relax as more teams are still contention.

Probably teams like Blue Eagles, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, Silver Strikers and KB would come guns blazing in the second phase of the TNM Super League.

At stake is K40 million for the champions.

Surely, the battle for points is likely to be intense in the second round.

When the two sides met in the first round, Bullets defeated the soldiers 1-0 courtesy of Nigerian striker Babatunde Adepoju’s goal at Civo Stadium last month.

Undoubtedly, KB are on revenge mission in Blantyre this afternoon.

However, it would not be an easy task for the soldiers considering that Bullets are a tough nut to crack especially at Kamuzu Stadium.

This season they are unbeaten in the league in 15 matches.

Bullets are coming from a 3-1 victory over Sable Farming in the FDH Bank Cup round of 32 whereas KB defeated MDF Marine 2-0 in the same competition.

The People’s Team coach Kalisto Pasuwa will put his hopes on Adepoju, Chimwemwe Idana, Patrick Mwaungulu and Blessings Mpokera.

KB Coach Charles Kamanga said his charges were not being intimidated by Bullets impressive form.

“We will go flat out to get maximum points. We need just to have great character throughout the match,” Kamanga said, whose side will be without Christopher Mtambo and Sam Chivunde due to injuries.

But he has all the weapons including Zeliat Nkhoma, Gregory Nachipo, Kelvin Hanganda and Herbert Wayekha.

The two teams are separated by 15 points on the log table as Bullets top the 16-member log table with 41 points from 15 matches whereas KB are on fifth position with 26 points.

In other matches, this afternoon, Silver host Mafco at Silver Stadium whereas Moyale Barracks host Mighty Tigers.

Action will continue tomorrow as Wanderers face TN Stars at Kasungu Stadium.

Second-placed Eagles will be away to Karonga United at Karonga Stadium.
