Shaka Banda to feature in Whitney Houston’s biopic

United States of America (USA)-based musician Mtali Shaka Banda will feature in Whitney Houston’s biopic movie, whose filming starts later this month.
Banda wrote about the exciting news on his Facebook page on Thursday.
“Exciting news: I’ll be in the live band for a scene in the Whitney Houston biopic movie,” he said.
Several people have since congratulated Shaka Banda for the development.
Shaka Banda could not be reached for his further comment on the development Sunday.
Musician Faith Mussa’s manager Samuel Chiwaka also wrote on his Facebook page congratulating Shaka Banda.
“Congratulations my brother in the industry Mtali Shaka Banda, who will be in the live band for a scene in the Whitney Houston biopic,” Chiwaka said.
He added that Mtali once performed with Faith Mussa in 2016 at Lake of Stars Festival in Nkhata Bay and that he appeared on Faith’s album.
Lilongwe-based singer and guitarist Peter Mawanga also congratulated Shaka Banda on the development.
“Congratulations to our very own Mtali Shaka Banda, who will be featured in new Whitney Houston biopic whose filming starts this month. Mtali played sax on the Lingadzi Praise Team album,” Mawanga said.
Naomi Ackie will play Whitney Houston in the musical biopic that is being directed by Kasi Lemmons. The screenplay will be penned by Anthony McCarten and will take audiences on an emotional, energetic journey through Houston’s career and music.
