Shayona hails mining indaba

Shayona Cement Company says the Mining Indaba at which the company participated at in Cape Town, South Africa last month has enabled the company make new business connections internationally.

Shayona Cement operations manager, Prajeesh Padmanabhan – who represented the company at the conference, said he was able to network and make business contacts with other top mining executives from across the globe who attended the event.

“It was the first time for Shayona to participate at the Mining Indaba and it was really one of my best experiences as a manager for Shayona,” said Padmanabhan.

The trip was sponsored by Nedbank as one way of thanking its big corporate customers.

Shayona, which produces Akshar, Tanthwe and Buildplast cement brands, is currently one of the fastest growing cement manufacturing companies in Malawi.

Nedbank Head of Wholesale Sales, Issa Edward, said Nedbank is committed to supporting the private sector and hosting Shayona Cement was a demonstration of that commitment.

In 2015, Nedbank sponsored government officials to attend a similar indaba.
