Shu Shu to be extradited to Malawi

Suspected racist Lu Ke, the China national who’s also known by the nickname Shu Shu, is expected to be extradited to Malawi from Zambia soon, according to the Ministry of Homeland Security.
Shu Shu was arrested in Zambia after he disappeared from Malawi following allegations of crimes, which were uncovered by BBC investigative report, against some Malawian children and women in Lilongwe.
Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services spokesperson Pasqually Zulu confirmed to The Daily Times Monday that Shu Shu had been arrested at Chipata in Zambia.
Zulu said the alleged racist was arrested by Zambia’s immigration authorities.
“He is in Zambia police custody. We are trying to get hold of him so he can be repatriated to the country. We had shared information with immigration officers in neighbouring countries; we knew that he would cross the borders.
“He was actually caught because he wanted to process papers so that he could proceed to his country [China].
“In the process of trying to get his travel papers done, he was caught by immigration [officials],” Zulu said.
Meanwhile, Principal Secretary for Homeland Security Kennedy Nkhoma has said the country is communicating with Zambian authorities to have Shu Shu extradited to Malawi.
“He will be extradited to Malawi. I cannot be precise about when that will happen because it goes through the court but we are working on it so [that] he comes soon. We have already set our ball rolling; we have already communicated with them [Zambians],” he said.
When asked whether the authorities in Zambia were being cooperative in regards to the matter, Nkhoma confidently replied, “Why not?”
