Silver Strikers displaced Nyasa Big Bullets from the TNM Super League summit after beating Karonga United 2-1 at Karonga Ground Sunday.

Goals from Jack Chiona and Victor Limbani were enough to secure maximum points for the Central Bankers whereas Karonga’s consolation came from Sheriff Shamama.

Silver have 23 points from 10 games, one point above the now second-placed Bullets who have played the same number of games.

The Central Bankers returned to the capital with four points, having drawn one-all against Mzuni FC on Saturday at the same venue.

In Lilongwe, Be Forward Wanderers’ resurgence continued Sunday when they claimed maximum points with a 3-0 victory over Blue Eagles at Nankhaka Stadium.

The Nomads had a fruitful outing to the Central Region, having also beaten Kamuzu Barracks 2-1 at Kasungu Ground on Saturday.

Veteran striker Esau Kanyenda netted a brace before Peter Wadabwa’s goal completed the rout to secure maximum points for the defending champions who have 14 points from eight games, nine points behind Silver but with two game in hand.

In a post-match interview, Eagles Coach, Derlerk Msakakuona, said it was a bad day at the office.

“They utilised their chances and defended. We made some mistakes in the second-half but we need to forget it and focus on the final,” he said.

Nomads Head Coach, Bob Mpinganjira, praised his charges for collecting maximum points on the road.

“It was a good performance from the players. We have to continue working like that. There is great commitment from the players,” Mpinganjira said .

Elsewhere, TN Stars defeated Mafco 2-1 at Kasungu Ground to worsen the Salima-based soldiers’ woes this season.

Stain Davie and Tigzobere Kumwenda scored for Stars whereas Kingsley Nkhonjera netted for Mafco.

Mafco have only won a single game against Nchalo United.
