Silver Strikers, Mighty Tigers in contrasting missions

Silver Strikers and Mighty Tigers have contrasting missions when they meet in the TNM Super League clash at Mpira Stadium this afternoon.
The Central Bankers have chance to reclaim top spot if they get maximum points against their bogey side Tigers, who are desperate for a win to move out of the relegation zone.
When the two sides met in the first round, they shared spoils in a goal-less draw at Silver Stadium.
This afternoon’s match provides Silver with a perfect opportunity to bounce back from the 2-1 loss to leaders Nyasa Big Bullets at Kamuzu Stadium last month.
However, the Bankers had been rocked by internal problems for the past two weeks following the coaching panel shake-up.
On the part of Tigers, they might be in high spirits after a 1-0 away victory over Blue Eagles.
Silver Coach Daniel Kabwe believes he has done his homework well ahead of the match.
“Everything is normal and we have prepared well. We have worked on mistakes we saw against Bullets and we want to be competitive again,” Kabwe said.
Silver are second on the log table with 46 points from 23 matches, two points behind Bullets, who have a match in hand whereas Tigers are third from bottom with 22 points from 24 matches.
Tigers Coach Trevor Kajawa was upbeat of collecting maximum points in today’s encounter.
“We are a team with good history and the players are determined to get the three points,” Kajawa said.
Silver will be without Duncan Nyoni who has joined Simba Sports Club of Tanzania.
In another potentially exciting match, Mighty Wanderers will face Civil Service United at Kamuzu Stadium.
The Nomads are third on the log table with 38 points from 22 matches whereas Civo are fifth with 35 points from 23 matches.
In other matches today, Eagles will host Moyale Barracks at Nankhaka Stadium whereas Mafco will be in action against Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium. Mzuzu Warriors will host Karonga United at Mzuzu Stadium.
