Silver Strikers players shun training

By Mabvuto Kambuwe:
Silver Strikers players Tuesday refused to train over outstanding salaries for August 2019 and game bonuses for three games.
Silver Chairperson, Peter Chando, Tuesday downplayed the issue.
“I was in a meeting the whole day so I do not have details on what happened. But the money will be sorted out by the end of the day so they should keep calm,” Chando said.
A senior player for Silver confirmed that they shunned training Tuesday.
“We do not have money to pay for rentals and food so we cannot train when our families are struggling,” he said.
Silver are on fourth place on the log table with 29 points from 16 games.
Over the weekend, TN Stars players boycotted training for one week, a development which saw the club failing to honour games against Karonga United and Chitipa United in the Northern Region.
