By Mabvuto Kambuwe:
Silver Strikers have recalled goalkeeper Blessings Kameza and midfielder Timothy Chitedze from suspension.
The two players were implicated in a revolt which led to the team’s dismal performance in the just-ended season.
Silver Chairperson, Ralph Tseka, Wednesday said the two players were cleared of wrongdoing.
“They were exonerated and will be back with the team in preparation for next season,” Tseka said.
However, Kameza and Chitedze were not readily available for their comments yesterday.
The club also suspended Coach Lovemore Fazili and Team Manager Francis Songo as they were also investigated.
But Fazili was also cleared of wrongdoing whereas Songo is still suspended.
However, the future of Silver coaches is still unclear as reports suggest the Executive Committee and board of directors are divided over the firing of the Young Chimodzi-led technical panel.
Tseka said the outcome of the meeting would be made public once all stakeholders have been consulted.
Silver are expected to regroup on February 5 2019 in preparations for the 2019 season.
The team came second in the Fisd Challenge Cup after losing 3-2 to Be Forward Wanderers at Bingu National Stadium.
But Silver finished on position three on the TNM Super League log table with 57 points in 2018 season
