Silver Strikers tune up against Mozambique teams
Tnm Super League sleeping giants, Silver Strikers are leaving no stone unturned a head of the new season as they have intensified preparations.
The team was on a pre-season tour to Tete Province, Mozambique to play two strength-testing matches over the weekend.
On Saturday, the Central Bankers registered a 1-0 victory over Aggia FC.
Mathews Sibale scored the only goal of the match played in Tete Province. Silver was yesterday playing against Angonia Stars in their second game in Mozambique.
Silver general secretary, Bernard Khwimba, was not available for a comment on Sunday, but assistant coach Lovemore Fazili last week said the preparations were on track.
“We are assembling a good squad blended with experienced and upcoming players,” Fazili said.
The games have been arranged to offer the Young Chimodzi-led technical panel a chance to assess some new players against foreign teams.
The Central Bankers endured a difficult campaign last season after finishing on position five in the TNM Super League.
They did not win any silverware last season.
In the ongoing transfer window, Silver have signed five new players as part of the rebuilding exercise.
The team also released 10 players after underperforming last season.
Silver have signed Brighton Munthali, Levison Maganizo, Mark Fodya (all from Wizards FC), Clement Trota and Herbert Wayekha from Msundwe United
